General
Information
Ross Lake Camps is a Maine
hunting camp with a group of very
remote cabins located deep within the North Maine Woods, near
the
Allagash
Wilderness
Waterway. The camps have been operated commercially for many
decades. They were originally very basic outpost cabins only
accessible by float plane, but with the construction of a road
system, customers can now drive right into the yard.
The cabins are rustic,
but very comfortable, and are located right
on the shore of Chemquasabamticook lake (AKA
Ross Lake). The smallest sleeps three people,
while the largest comfortably accommodates up
to eleven. All cabins are equipped with gas
lights, cook stove, refrigerators, and a wood
stove for heat. There are three outhouses located
on the property, and a central shower house
heated in the chilly fall season. Both Housekeeping
and American plans are available. Meals are
served in the dining room of Chemquasabamticook
Lodge.
There are canoes available for customers to use at no extra
cost. Sixteen foot boats outfitted with outboard motors, rod
holders, nets, boat cushions, oars, life vests, and an array
of other safety equipment can be rented for a small fee.

Muskie Fishing
Trips at Ross Lake:
Muskellunge (Muskie for short) , or as we like
to call them “Wolves of the Waterways”, are
quickly becoming an established game fish in
the rivers running through the North
Maine Woods.
If you like a fierce striking, hard running,
acrobatic fighting fish, then this is the species
for you.
